Certificates are awards that students can receive after they complete a lesson. There are 3 certificates for each lesson. Each certificate focuses on a skill (like problem solving or leadership). You can choose 3 students to receive a certificate. Or, the entire class can receive certificates. Parents love seeing these certificates, too!

My 2-5th graders loved this lesson. It was one of the first lessons as a STEAM instructor, so I wasn’t sure about the timing. It took us two class periods to complete this lesson. If you are doing a lot of classes at once, you will need a lot of boxes, and a lot of space to store them. Everyone enjoyed the lessons. It was a hit with the parents for Open House.

All students enjoyed each step of this lesson. I chose to print out the building permits and occupancy permits, and used them for several classes. We used notebook paper for designing the drafts to save paper.
